looking for "a style"

Not really. Frankly speaking, as more as I've been reading interviews and talking with professionals, as more I understand that there is no such a thing named  "an illustrator's style".  Actually all that everybody is calling as style is just a set of techniques, favorite ways of rendering graphic and so on.
What makes difference is the illustrator's personality. Which, in order, influences on everything - the way of thinking, all the likes and dislikes, passion and determination. All that makes his works unique.  Then he go to the materials, techniques and favorite themes. But finally we call it "style" - just because it's shorter :)

The consequence is that it proves that we could't choose our style - we learn it like we learn ourselves.

Now we are working with narrative and storytelling. My story of choice is "The Owl and the Pussycat" by Edward Lear. Originally it's written for children, but could be readen by adults as well. So I don't want to make it "childish". And here is the new challenge for me.
